NEW YORK (AP) — Fired Fox news host Tucker Carlson said Tuesday that he will be putting out a “new version” of his program on Twitter.Carlson made his announcement in a three-minute video posted on the social media site, as part of a denunciation of media. He called Twitter that last big remaining platform that allows free speech.“We’ll be bringing a new version of the show we’ve been doing for the last six and a half years to Twitter,” he said. “We’ll bring some other things, too, which we’ll tell you about. But for now we’re just grateful to be here.”He offered no other details, and a message to his lawyer, Bryan Freedman, was not immediately returned. It’s unclear what these plans mean for his remaining contract with Fox; typically television companies include a no-compete clause when someone leaves the air. (CNN) — Right-wing extremist Tucker Carlson announced Tuesday that he will relaunch his program on Twitter, a platform he praised as the only remaining large free-speech platform in the world after Fox News fired him late last month.Carlson made the announcement in a video posted to the social media website, which Elon Musk acquired last year. Twitter has devolved in recent months into a chaotic platform where the traditional press has come under assault from the billionaire.“Speech is the fundamental pre-requisite for democracy. That’s why it was enshrined in the first of our Constitutional amendments,” Carlson said. “Amazingly, as of tonight, there are not that many platforms left that allow free speech. The last big one remaining … is Twitter, where we are now.”Carlson demonized the news media in his announcement video, accusing journalists of often excluding facts that detract from their narratives. He did not mention Musk has ...Exclusive: Rep. George Santos charged by Justice Department in federal probe

Some South Florida students are being honored for their acts of kindness. Each month, staff members at North Beach Elementary nominate students to be recognized for the Jennifer Beth Turken Heart Award. Turken was a student at the school who passed away in 1996 at just 8 years old due to a brain tumor. Her parents created the award to recognize students for their kindness and respect towards one another.“We basically teach children all about kindness, we read stories to them about kindness, and it really works,” said Dana Turken, Jennifer’s mother. “I try to be kind, and I try to make my other friends feel good and okay about themselves,” said Lidnsay Gonzales, an award recipient. The winners received certificates and are invited with their classmates to an ice cream party, and at the end of the year, an overall winner from each grade level receives a new bicycle and a helmet.Latest news
