After Hurricane Lee passed east of New England early Saturday, conditions have been slowly but surely improving across the area. Overnight tonight winds will continue to subside as skies clear out completely, leading to a nice day Sunday. High surf will be the only effects from the storm that linger, but even the waves will start to calm down by Sunday afternoon. However, another storm is in the forecast Monday that is expected to bring a lot of rain and some rain to New England. The Chicago White Sox have their final game against an American League Central opponent this season when they face the Minnesota Twins in Sunday’s series finale at Guaranteed Rate Field.For the second straight season, the Sox will have a losing record in division games.After going 37-39 in 2022, they entered Saturday’s game against the Twins 22-28 against the AL Central this season, including losing 17 of their last 24. During that stretch, they’ve been outscored 127-84.During the consecutive playoff appearances in 2020 and 2021, the Sox went a combined 69-47 in division games.There’s been a change to the MLB schedule this year, with at least three games against every other major-league team. A man is in custody and a police officer is hurt after several people were allegedly assaulted at a TTC subway station on Saturday night.Toronto police say officers responded to Kipling Station in Etobicoke around 7:20 p.m. after getting reports of an assault.It is alleged that a man attacked several people in the bus bay at the station. There is no word if anyone was injured.Officers arrived and took a suspect into custody. Police say an officer was hurt during the response and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.Police remain on scene. The investigation is ongoing.This is a developing story. Wilson Lima announced.“I deeply regret the death of the 12 passengers and two crew members who were victims of the plane crash in Barcelos on Saturday,” Lima said on X, formerly known as Twitter.The Embraer PT-SOG aircraft had taken off from Manaus, the Amazonas state capital and the biggest city in the Amazon, and was attempting to land in heavy rain when it crashed, local media reported. LOS ANGELES (AP) — An armed man accused of impersonating a federal officer was taken into custody outside a Robert F. Kennedy Jr. campaign event in Los Angeles.A Los Angeles Police Department statement said police received a call Friday afternoon that a man with a loaded gun and holster and wearing a U.S. Marshals Service badge was outside a theater where the Democratic presidential candidate was scheduled to give a speech. A campaign statement said Kennedy’s security team surrounded the man, who later was taken into custody by the LAPD. The FBI also was on the scene.
